Sheepish by Friend

This is a fantastic memoir of two women, a sheep farm, and what to do with all the wool. Catherine and Melissa decided to buy a sheep farm and boy where they in for a surprise. Catherine, the author, has a fantastic sense of humor that comes through in her writing; she is smart, witty, and self-deprecating.

Sheepish gives a small look into the life of sheep, farms, and country life. You will laugh with her as they try to shear sheep and be amazed when she describes a sheep being born. She also talks about “fiber freaks”, something that she herself becomes.

I highly recommend this book. It’s a quick, light read. You can find it in our People section. Enjoy it over the weekend!

Call the Midwife

Did you miss any of the episodes of Call the Midwife when it aired recently on PBS? We have just added Season Four to our DVD collection so now you can catch up!

In the course of the four seasons the nurses, midwives and nuns of Nonnatus House have become old friends – Nurse Trixie, Sister Evangelina and Sister Julienne and all of the other heart-warming characters.

If you have missed this excellent series, check out Season One. It is a lovely¬†series about birth and life, set in one of the poorer sections of London in the 1950’s. The series is based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth. If your interested in reading the story we do own the book as well!
