Fuel Economy information is provided by the US Dept of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency. This website provides fuel economy guides, annual fuel cost estimates, and emission information on vehicles from 1984 through now. Printable guides are available for free for new car information.

Digital Sanborn maps: The Sanborn maps are the most frequently consulted maps in public libraries. Sanborn maps are valuable historical tools for anyone who wants to learn about the history, growth, and development of America. This collection is available through the Library of Congress. Sanborn maps can also be accessed through NYPL if you have a NYPL library card, which is free to any NYS resident.

Medina Historic Newspapers: Early editions of Medina’s newspapers are available on our website. We add more every year so the collection is growing. We have papers digitized from approximately 1852-2014. Newspapers are also available on microfilm in the library.

Orphan Trains

In response to the crisis of thousands of orphaned and homeless children at the end of the Civil War, the Orphan Train Movement was formed. This was an endeavor to save these lost children. Watch the video, “Abandoned: The Untold Story of the Orphan Trains”, by Michael Keene to learn more.
